India Storm into Nine U-19 Finals, Secure Six Bronze Medals at Asian U-19 & U-23 Boxing Championships

Jakarta, July 13, 2026: India continued its dominant run at the Asian U-19 & U-23 Boxing Championships with nine boxers advancing to the U-19 finals across the men's and women's categories, while six others secured bronze medals following the semifinal bouts in Jakarta.
The Indian contingent once again demonstrated its growing strength at the continental level, with the U-19 women's team producing a flawless performance by sending all eight participating boxers into their respective finals.
Indian Women Complete Clean Sweep into U-19 Finals
In the U-19 women's competition, Chahat (60kg) registered a commanding 5:0 victory over Chinese Taipei's Pei-Chun Tsai to book her place in the final.
Anshika (75kg) produced another dominant display, defeating An-Chi Tseng of Chinese Taipei via Referee Stops Contest (RSC) in the opening round.
Megha Sheokand (80kg) advanced after her semifinal opponent from Vietnam was unable to continue, resulting in an abandoned bout.
Prachi Tokas (+81kg) also progressed in emphatic fashion, securing an RSC victory in the first round against Shu-Shian Wang of Chinese Taipei.
With these victories, India confirmed all eight finalists in the U-19 women's category, underlining the country's remarkable depth in women's youth boxing.
Aditya and Shubham Rajput Reach U-19 Men's Finals
India also enjoyed success in the U-19 men's division, with two boxers advancing to the gold medal bouts.
Aditya (55kg) produced a clinical performance to defeat Korea's Hyeonmin Lee via RSC in the second round, while Shubham Rajput (90kg) edged Kyrgyzstan's Aitbek Berdimuratov in a closely contested 3:2 split decision.
Six Bronze Medals Added to India's Medal Tally
India also secured six bronze medals after semifinal finishes at the championships.

- Devendra Chaudhary (75kg)
- Sagar (85kg)
All four boxers finished with bronze medals following their respective semifinal defeats in the U-19 men's competition.
With the latest results, India has once again showcased exceptional depth and consistency at the youth level, particularly in the women's division, where the team completed a clean sweep into the finals.
