Star-studded finale marks successful end to inaugural TG20 season

Hyderabad, July 12, 2026: The Hyderabad Cricket Association's Sreenidhi University TG20 concluded its inaugural season with a spectacular closing ceremony at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, blending cricket, music and Telangana's vibrant cultural traditions ahead of the tournament final.

Oscar-winning singer Rahul Sipliganj, whose vocals featured in the Academy Award-winning song Naatu Naatu, delivered an electrifying live performance before a packed stadium, while actor and TG20 brand ambassador Vijay Deverakonda made a special appearance ahead of the summit clash between Hyderabad E-Champions and Anvita Khammam Aces.

Telangana's cultural heritage takes centre stage

The celebrations began with an elaborate cultural showcase featuring some of Telangana's most celebrated folk traditions. Performers enthralled spectators with Kolatam, Lambadi Dance, Bonalu Kolatam, Bathukamma Dance and the energetic Oggu Dollu performance, highlighting the state's rich artistic heritage before the cricketing action got underway.

Jeevan Reddy, Agam Rao and Sanjeev Reddy of the Hyderabad Cricket Association's TG20 Governing Council were among the dignitaries present for the grand finale.

Sharing his excitement after performing before a capacity crowd, Rahul Sipliganj praised the tournament's grand presentation and the enthusiastic response from fans.

"Performing at the Sreenidhi University TG20 has been an amazing experience. I used to watch the Super Bowl, where artists perform in the center of the ground. I’m seeing something like this for the first time in Telangana, and performing in front of a packed crowd is an honour.”

Vijay Deverakonda hails TG20's growth

Brand ambassador Vijay Deverakonda lauded the Hyderabad Cricket Association, players and cricket fans across Telangana for making the inaugural edition a resounding success.
