Assam Premier League Unveils Official Anthem Ahead of Inaugural Season Starting August 1

The Assam Premier League (APL) on Friday unveiled its official anthem ahead of the inaugural edition of the tournament, which is set to begin on August 1, 2026. The anthem celebrates Assam's rich cultural heritage while capturing the excitement and passion surrounding the state's newest premier cricket competition.

Performed by acclaimed artistes Joi Barua and Nahid Afrin, the anthem blends the distinctive sounds of Assam's traditional musical instruments with a contemporary sporting rhythm, creating a musical identity that fans can rally behind throughout the tournament.

A Tribute to Assam's Pride and Cricketing Spirit

Inspired by the league's motto, "Aamar Axom, Aamar Gourab" (Our Assam, Our Pride), the anthem pays tribute to the state's culture, traditions and growing sporting aspirations.

The song has been written and composed by Rupam Bhuyan, with music arrangement, mixing and mastering by Rakesh Baro. The composition also showcases the talents of Rupam Kalita on the dhol, Mrinal Boro on the pepa and Bhaskar Saikia on the guitar, bringing together some of Assam's finest musicians in a celebration of the state's cultural identity.

Anthem Video Showcases Assam's Culture

The anthem's official music video has been directed by Samujjal Kashyap and produced by Kadambari Connective Private Limited. The production features editing by Samujjal Kashyap and Gautam Mazumdar, colour grading by Gobinda Naskar, graphics by Ishaan Hazorica and visual effects by Samujjal Kashyap.

The visuals combine the excitement of cricket with Assam's vibrant traditions, presenting a cinematic tribute to both the sport and the state's cultural heritage.

Official Musical Identity of the League

The official anthem will be played across all Assam Premier League venues during the inaugural season and will also feature prominently across the league's digital platforms. It is expected to serve as the league's musical identity as the competition begins its journey on August 1.
