HRV Pharma, a global virtual pharmaceutical company, has launched RIKO™, which it describes as India's first AI-native pharmaceutical operating system. Developed using the company's proprietary operational knowledge and more than 2.4 million reasoning events, the platform is designed to enhance decision-making across sales, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Announced in Hyderabad on July 16, RIKO™ has been conceptualised and developed in-house using HRV Pharma's operational experience accumulated over seven years. According to the company, the platform has been trained on millions of proprietary pharmaceutical decisions generated across a network of more than 50 FDA and EU-GMP-certified manufacturing partners and customers operating in 55 countries.
Built on Operational Intelligence
Unlike conventional enterprise AI systems that primarily rely on publicly available data, RIKO™ has been trained using HRV Pharma's institutional knowledge gathered from real-world pharmaceutical operations. The company said the platform continuously retrains ten federated reasoning models through a shared contextual architecture, enabling it to anticipate operational challenges, identify opportunities and support context-driven decision-making across the pharmaceutical value chain.
The intelligent operating system simultaneously evaluates chemistry risk, nitrosamine potential, supplier reliability, regulatory history, manufacturing capability, commercial alignment and market signals before sourcing commitments or licensing decisions are finalised.
Key Performance Outcomes
- Achieves 94% predictive accuracy in identifying potential nitrosamine-related risk patterns during early assessments.
- Reduces supplier qualification timelines by 85%, shortening processes that traditionally took four to eight weeks while retaining human oversight for final approvals.
- Automatically screens 100% of inbound commercial enquiries, completing opportunity scoring, supplier matching and commercial prioritisation in less than two seconds.
According to the company, the platform enables pharmaceutical manufacturers and licensing partners to identify and address risks before they affect product quality, regulatory compliance or commercial operations.
Leadership on the Vision Behind RIKO™
"We didn't begin by asking how AI could fit into our business. We started by asking why the same preventable problems continue to surface years after critical manufacturing and sourcing decisions have already been made. That question became the foundation of RIKO™," said Hari Kiran Chereddi, Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HRV Pharma.
"Large language models have become increasingly accessible. Manufacturing capacity can be expanded. Technology can be replicated. What takes years to build is institutional intelligence — the accumulated understanding of how pharmaceutical decisions actually unfold across chemistry, regulation, quality, supply, and commercialization. We believe that will define the next generation of industry leaders," he added.
Enhancing Risk Mitigation Across Pharma Operations
The platform has been designed to streamline supplier qualification processes for manufacturing partners while helping customers and licensing partners identify potential risks before committing to supply agreements or product development decisions.
"We didn't build RIKO simply to automate work. We built it to compound judgment," said Sowjanya Varma, Chief Information Officer, HRV Pharma.
"Our objective has always been to identify risk beforehand, not after a quality failure, regulatory finding, or product recall. Every regulatory interaction, supplier assessment, deviation, technical evaluation and commercial outcome makes the system better at reasoning through the next decision," she said.
Redefining Competitive Advantage in Pharmaceuticals
HRV Pharma believes the pharmaceutical industry's competitive advantage is shifting from manufacturing scale and infrastructure towards operational intelligence and proactive risk management. With RIKO™, the company aims to establish a new benchmark in pharmaceutical decision-making by combining institutional knowledge with self-learning AI models capable of supporting complex regulatory, quality and commercial decisions in real time.
