CORONA Remedies Launches Dedicated EU-GMP Approved Hormone Manufacturing Facility
Ahmedabad, June 30, 2026: CORONA Remedies Limited has announced the inauguration and commercialisation of its dedicated EU-GMP approved Hormone Manufacturing Facility at Bhayla, Ahmedabad. The newly commissioned facility marks a significant milestone in the company's efforts to strengthen globally benchmarked pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities while reinforcing its long-term commitment to advancing women's healthcare.
The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was inaugurated by Chairman Dr. K. L. Mehta alongside long-serving women employees of the organisation, symbolising the company's continued focus on women's health and recognising the contributions of women to its growth journey.
Supporting the Growing Demand for Women's Healthcare
Global demand for women's healthcare solutions continues to rise due to increased awareness and diagnosis of hormonal disorders, growing fertility care requirements, and expanding focus on menopause management and hormone replacement therapies. According to the World Health Organization's Infertility Factsheet published in November 2025, the need for specialised pharmaceutical manufacturing has become increasingly important as hormone therapies continue to evolve.
Hormonal medicines are among the most complex pharmaceutical products to manufacture because of their high potency, sensitive formulations and strict contamination control requirements. These therapies require dedicated manufacturing environments equipped with specialised engineering systems, advanced technologies and rigorous regulatory compliance.
Recognising these evolving healthcare needs, CORONA Remedies has established one of India's most advanced dedicated hormone manufacturing facilities to support both domestic and international markets.
Purpose-Built Manufacturing Ecosystem
The dedicated facility has been designed to maintain complete segregation of operations, precision environmental controls, specialised containment technologies and trained personnel for the safe handling of potent hormone active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
The integrated manufacturing platform supports multiple dosage forms, including:
- Tablets
- Soft gel capsules
- Ointments
- Gels
By accommodating multiple dosage forms within a single specialised manufacturing ecosystem, the company aims to serve a wide range of women's healthcare therapies.
Spread across approximately 1.0 lakh square feet, the facility has an annual production capacity of:
- 194 million tablets and capsules
- 1.5 million ointments and gels
With the commissioning of the facility, CORONA Remedies expects its in-house hormone manufacturing capacity to increase by nearly 20%.
Advanced Manufacturing Technologies
The manufacturing facility incorporates advanced production technologies and digital process controls to enhance product consistency, manufacturing precision and operational excellence.
Key technological capabilities include:
- Fully integrated closed-loop manufacturing systems supported by 21 CFR-compliant equipment and Quality by Design (QbD) principles.
- Advanced gelatin processing systems featuring precision-controlled agitation and jacketed vessels for accurate temperature management, improved uniformity and formulation consistency.
- Real-time online process monitoring to enhance batch-to-batch reproducibility and overall product quality.
Leadership Commentary
