Raja Karan, Tamil Nadu, Ritu Rani and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academies Win Big on Day 1 of Hockey India Junior Women Academy Championship 2026

The 4th Hockey India Junior Women Academy Championship 2026 (Zone A & B) got off to an exciting start in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, as Raja Karan Hockey Academy, Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy, Ritu Rani Hockey Academy and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy registered emphatic victories in their respective opening Pool A and Pool B matches.

The opening day featured four one-sided contests, with the winning teams showcasing clinical finishing and disciplined performances to begin their campaigns on a high note.

Raja Karan Hockey Academy Edges Past Khalsa Hockey Academy

In the opening Pool A fixture, Raja Karan Hockey Academy defeated Khalsa Hockey Academy (Amritsar) 2-0.

Captain Rakhi led from the front, scoring both goals in the 25th and 58th minutes to hand her side a comfortable victory and an ideal start to the tournament.

Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy Registers 8-0 Win

Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy delivered one of the standout performances of the day with an emphatic 8-0 victory over Hockey Family Badhkhalsa NCR Hockey Society.

S Pooja stole the spotlight with a hat-trick, scoring in the 30th, 47th and 59th minutes. Captain Jancy A contributed two goals (12', 44'), while Keerthiga also netted a brace (32', 34'). V Raghavi added the remaining goal in the 37th minute to complete the dominant display.

Ritu Rani Hockey Academy Thrashes Vadipatti Raja Hockey Academy

Pool B witnessed the biggest victory of the day as Ritu Rani Hockey Academy outclassed Vadipatti Raja Hockey Academy 13-0.

Khushdeep Kaur produced a sensational performance with four goals (4', 39', 40', 42'), while Heena added a hat-trick (32', 50', 55'). Chahat (28', 52') and Hashmeet Kaur (44', 45') scored two goals each, with Harshdeep Kaur (3') and Sapna (47') also finding the net to complete a comprehensive victory.

Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy Cruises to 12-0 Victory

Hosts Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy wrapped up the day's action with a commanding 12-0 win over Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy Bhagta.

Sudipta Kindo (9', 23'), Kanak Pal (11', 30'), Sanjana Mourya (17', 26') and Sujata Jayant (18', 43') each scored braces, while Priyanshi Bhawnar (12'), Sneha Davde (25'), Tanvi (40') and Hirva Purohit (60') added one goal each to seal a dominant opening-day performance.
