Prime Volleyball League Receives Landmark FIVB Recognition

The Prime Volleyball League (PVL) has achieved a major milestone after receiving official recognition from the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) as India's first division professional volleyball league. The announcement comes ahead of the league's landmark fifth season, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 30, 2026.

As preparations gather pace, the Season 5 Player Auction will take place in Goa on August 17, 2026, where franchises will build their squads from a pool of India's leading volleyball talent ahead of another highly competitive season.

Recognition Reflects League's Growth Over Four Seasons

The FIVB recognition acknowledges the Prime Volleyball League's sustained efforts over the past four years to establish a structured, high-performance professional competition in India. The league has played a significant role in raising competitive standards, expanding the domestic talent pool and strengthening the country's volleyball ecosystem.

The recognition also enhances the league's international standing and reinforces its position as the premier professional volleyball competition in India.

Indian Clubs Get Pathway to International Competitions

Following the recognition, clubs participating in the Prime Volleyball League will become eligible to compete in international club tournaments organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA), and FIVB club competitions, subject to applicable qualification criteria and regulations.

The development opens new opportunities for Indian clubs to compete against leading teams from across Asia and the world, further strengthening the country's presence on the global volleyball stage.
