NRAI Adopts Constitutional Reforms in Line With NSGA 2025

Bhubaneswar, July 19, 2026: The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has unanimously approved amendments to its Constitution, aligning the federation's governance framework with the provisions of the National Sports Governance Act (NSGA), 2025.

The landmark reforms were adopted during a Special General Body Meeting held on July 18 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. With the move, the NRAI becomes one of the first national sports federations in the country to implement the governance reforms introduced under the NSGA 2025, setting a benchmark for transparency and accountability in Indian sports administration.

NRAI President Hails Progressive Reform

NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo described the constitutional amendments as a significant step towards building a stronger and more athlete-centric sporting ecosystem.

The unanimous backing from our General Body reflects our collective determination to modernise our administration. The revised Constitution introduces several statutory mechanisms aimed at strengthening governance and protecting stakeholders within the federation.

NRAI Secretary General Pawankumar Singh said the reforms would help create a transparent framework that supports shooters at every stage of their development.

"Our main focus will always be to safeguard the interests of our shooters and give them a transparent framework to excel. By implementing these structural changes proactively, we ensure that our athletes receive uninterrupted operational and developmental support. This legal alignment strengthens our pathways from the grassroots to the elite international level," he said.
