India Sends 24-Member Squad to Senior World Fencing Championships 2026 in Hong Kong

India's 24-member fencing contingent has departed for the Senior World Fencing Championships 2026, scheduled to be held in Hong Kong from 22 to 30 July. The prestigious nine-day tournament will take place at the AsiaWorld-Expo venue, bringing together the world's top fencers across all three disciplines.

The Indian contingent comprises 12 men and 12 women who will compete in Épée, Foil and Sabre events in both the individual and team categories. The team will be supported by five national coaches and two physiotherapists throughout the championship.

Rajeev Mehta Backs Indian Team Ahead of World Championships

Wishing the contingent success ahead of the tournament, Rajeev Mehta, Secretary-General of the Fencing Association of India, expressed confidence in the squad's preparation and determination.

"This World Championship represents a major milestone for Indian fencing as we test our strength against the very best in the world. Our athletes across Épée, Foil, and Sabre have put in intense preparation and shown remarkable grit throughout the national and international season. We have immense belief in this contingent's ability to compete with fearlessness, push boundaries, and bring pride to the nation in Hong Kong. I wish them good luck," Mehta said.
