Muscat, Oman, July 23, 2026: The Indian Sub-Junior Women's and Men's teams continued their unbeaten run in the Elite Pool of the FIH Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship 2026 with commanding victories on Wednesday. While the women's side outclassed Kazakhstan 10-0, the men's team defeated Bangladesh 8-3 to maintain their impressive start to the tournament.
The championship, being held in Muscat, Oman, also serves as the Asian qualifier for the inaugural FIH Youth Hockey5s World Cup, with teams vying for qualification alongside continental honours.
Women's Team Registers 10-0 Rout Against Kazakhstan
India's Sub-Junior Women's Team dominated proceedings from the opening whistle against Kazakhstan. Nousheen Naz struck twice within the opening minute to hand India a 2-0 lead at the break before the team produced an even stronger second-half performance.
Player of the Match Sandeepa Kumari starred with a hat-trick, while Nousheen Naz added two more goals to finish with four goals in the match.

The Indian Sub-Junior Men's Team faced a more competitive contest against Bangladesh in the opening half. Captain Ketan Kushwaha and Shahrukh Ali helped India establish a narrow 3-2 advantage at the interval, while Bangladesh remained in contention through goals from Md Hosen and Sohorab Soton.
India raised the tempo after the break, adding five more goals to pull away from their opponents and complete an 8-3 victory.

India's Sub-Junior Women's Team will next face China and Uzbekistan on July 24 as they look to extend their unbeaten streak in the Elite Pool.
The Sub-Junior Men's Team will also be in action on July 24, taking on hosts Oman before facing Pakistan in another crucial fixture.
With both teams maintaining perfect records so far, India remains firmly on course for a strong finish in the tournament and a place at the inaugural FIH Youth Hockey5s World Cup.
