Guwahati, July 23, 2026: Cricket in Assam is set for a new chapter as the inaugural edition of the Assam Premier League (APL) gets underway on August 1, bringing together eight franchise teams for a 23-day tournament that promises high-quality domestic competition. The league will culminate with the grand final on August 23, where the first-ever Assam Premier League champions will be crowned.
The opening day will feature a double-header, with Charaideo Sunrisers taking on Barpeta Braves at 2:00 PM before Tezpur Titans face Dibrugarh Warriors in the evening fixture at 7:00 PM.
The tournament will feature a total of 43 matches, comprising 40 league-stage fixtures, two semi-finals and the final. During the league stage, each team will play every other side once, along with three reverse fixtures, creating opportunities for exciting rematches and emerging rivalries.

The top four teams at the end of the league stage will qualify for the semi-finals on August 21.
