Hyderabad, July 9, 2026: Anvita Khammam Aces secured a place in the final of the Hyderabad Cricket Association's Sreenidhi University TG20 after defeating Hyderabad E-Champions by 10 runs in a thrilling Qualifier 1 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Powered by an unbeaten 76 from Mickil Jaiswal and a disciplined bowling performance led by Sahendra Mallu (3/31), along with a composed final over from Harshith Sai, the Aces successfully defended a formidable total of 200. The victory handed Hyderabad E-Champions their first defeat of the tournament and ended the league leaders' unbeaten run.

The win sends Anvita Khammam Aces directly into Sunday's final, while Hyderabad E-Champions will get another opportunity to qualify when they face EIPL & eleve Karimnagar Diamonds in Qualifier 2 on Friday, July 10. The Diamonds earned their place after defeating Ranga Reddy Risers by 75 runs in Thursday's Eliminator.

Mickil Jaiswal powers Aces to 200

After being put in to bat, Anvita Khammam Aces made a brisk start through Paras Raj, who struck 32 off just 18 deliveries despite the early dismissal of Wafi Kachchhi. Paras dominated the powerplay with three sixes and a boundary before Ajay Dev Goud removed him immediately after the fielding restrictions.

G Sai Krishna Reddy (40 off 30) and Ananth Prateek Reddy (18 off 11) rebuilt the innings with sensible batting before Pranav Varma claimed the wicket of Ananth to leave the Aces at 87/3 at the halfway mark.

Mickil Jaiswal then took complete control of the innings. Alongside skipper CV Milind (17 off 12), he accelerated the scoring rate with a series of attacking strokes. After bringing up his half-century from only 26 balls, Mickil launched a devastating assault in the closing overs, smashing five sixes across the final three overs.

Remaining unbeaten on 76 from just 34 deliveries, including seven sixes and four boundaries, Mickil helped Anvita Khammam Aces score 113 runs in the final 10 overs to finish on an imposing 200/6.

Sai Vikas Reddy's blitz keeps E-Champions in hunt

Hyderabad E-Champions responded aggressively despite losing skipper Abhirath Reddy early. Sai Vikas Reddy played one of the finest innings of the tournament, hammering 69 off only 27 balls with a barrage of boundaries and sixes to guide his side to 71/1 at the end of the powerplay.

Sixteen-year-old Ved Reddy provided the breakthrough by dismissing Anvith Reddy before returning to remove the dangerous Sai Vikas after his explosive innings had taken the score to 100/3.

Ganesh Gadugu added 27 off 16 while Pranav Varma contributed 26 off 22 to keep Hyderabad E-Champions in contention. However, Sahendra Mallu turned the match in the Aces' favour with crucial wickets, dismissing Ganesh, Ajay Dev Goud and P Arvind to finish with impressive figures of 3/31.

CV Milind also chipped in by trapping Shanmukha Ashwin LBW, leaving Hyderabad E-Champions needing a late surge.

Aces hold their nerve

Vaishnav Reddy remained unbeaten on 21 from 16 deliveries and Akhil Rathod added an unbeaten eight from four balls, but Harshith Sai delivered an excellent final over under pressure to ensure Hyderabad E-Champions finished on 190/8, 10 runs short of the target.

With the victory, Anvita Khammam Aces became the first team to qualify for the Sreenidhi University TG20 final and will now await the winner of Qualifier 2.
