Education Ministry Reviews Preparedness for NEET UG Re-Examination
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess preparations for the upcoming NEET UG 2026 re-examination, scheduled to be held on June 21.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Education, the National Testing Agency (NTA), state government representatives, and officials from higher education institutions. The review focused on ensuring that the examination is conducted in a fair, transparent, and secure manner.
Focus on Transparency and Security
During the meeting, Pradhan directed all stakeholders to remain fully prepared and maintain the highest standards of integrity throughout the examination process. He emphasized that every agency involved should work in close coordination to ensure the re-examination is conducted smoothly without any disruptions.
The minister stressed the importance of strict monitoring, efficient communication, and adherence to security protocols at every examination centre across the country.
Senior Officers to Monitor Examination Process
As part of the preparations, the Ministry of Education has decided to deploy senior officers across various states to oversee examination arrangements on the ground. These officers will coordinate with local administrations, law enforcement agencies, and examination authorities to ensure all guidelines are implemented effectively.
The officials will also submit real-time reports to the central monitoring mechanism established by the NTA, enabling prompt response to any operational issues during the examination.
Re-Examination Scheduled for June 21
The NEET UG re-examination will be conducted on June 21 under enhanced security arrangements. Authorities have introduced additional safeguards aimed at ensuring a transparent examination process and preventing any irregularities.
Candidates have been advised to rely only on official communications issued by the Ministry of Education and the NTA for examination-related updates and instructions.
Government Aims to Restore Confidence
The review meeting comes as the government intensifies its efforts to ensure the credibility of one of India's largest medical entrance examinations. By strengthening coordination between central and state authorities and implementing enhanced monitoring measures, the Ministry seeks to conduct a smooth, fair, and incident-free examination for lakhs of medical aspirants across the country.
