Government, Judiciary and Industry Unite at 4th National POSH Conclave to Advance Workplace Safety Culture

The 4th National Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Conclave & Excellence Awards, organised by NoMeansNo Foundation, brought together senior representatives from the government, judiciary, law enforcement agencies, industry, legal fraternity and HR leadership to strengthen India's workplace safety ecosystem. Held under the theme "From Compliance to Culture", the conclave focused on advancing workplace dignity through stronger collaboration, awareness and accountability.

More than 250 senior delegates from across the country attended the event, including Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs), HR heads, Internal Committee members, Local Committee representatives, public sector organisations, private companies and workplace governance professionals.

Delhi Government and NoMeansNo Foundation Sign Landmark MoU

A key highlight of the conclave was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi and NoMeansNo Foundation. The agreement marks a significant step towards strengthening workplace safety by expanding POSH awareness, institutional preparedness, compliance support, capacity building and knowledge sharing.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, Secretary, Department of Women & Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi, and Vipin Bajoria, Co-founder of NoMeansNo Foundation, in the presence of distinguished guests and delegates. The announcement received a standing ovation, reflecting its importance as a collaborative initiative between government and civil society to strengthen institutional mechanisms for preventing workplace sexual harassment.

Workplace Safety Must Become Organisational Culture

Inaugurating the conclave, Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, stressed that workplace safety should extend beyond legal compliance and become an organisational culture built on awareness, accountability and mutual respect. She also appreciated NoMeansNo Foundation for creating a national platform that connects government institutions, the judiciary, employers, investigators and workplace practitioners.

"The POSH Act is not merely a compliance requirement; it is a commitment to creating safe, inclusive and respectful workplaces. Its true strength lies in the three pillars of prevention, prohibition and redressal. Employers must go beyond policies to provide enabling conditions, while Internal Committees must function with integrity, fairness and sound judgement. At the same time, all stakeholders must understand the law with responsibility, because only a culture of awareness, empathy and accountability can truly protect the dignity of every woman at the workplace."

Experts Discuss Evolving Workplace Governance

The conclave featured panel discussions covering organisational accountability, reporting culture, leadership responsibilities, workplace investigations and emerging legal challenges. Prominent speakers included Hon'ble Justice Prathiba M. Singh, Judge, Delhi High Court; Dr. Pinky Anand, Senior Advocate and Former Additional Solicitor General of India; Shri Ajay Chaudhary, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi Police; Dr. Pavan Duggal, Senior Advocate and cyber law expert; Ms. Veda Bharadwaja, Country Programme Manager (Ending Violence Against Women), UN Women India; and Aarti Bhardwaj, Lead – DEI & Wellbeing, Nestlé India, alongside several legal, HR and workplace governance experts.

National POSH Excellence Awards Recognise Best Practices

The conclave concluded with the National POSH Excellence Awards, honouring organisations and professionals for outstanding leadership and best practices in workplace safety and governance.

During the valedictory session, Hon'ble Justice Prathiba M. Singh released "The Grey Files", a legal fiction authored by Vishal Bhasin, Co-Founder of NoMeansNo Foundation. Inspired by real workplace investigation scenarios, the book aims to enhance understanding of the POSH inquiry process.
